City Council meetings are held every first Tuesday of the month, 7 p.m. at the Maryville Municipal Building (first room on the right – Council Chambers). This month’s agenda is pretty light.

There will be second readings on agenda items from last month, which you can read about HERE.
After the second readings, we’ll ratify the emergency purchase of two raw water intake pumps.
Then, council will consider a motion to authorize the mayor to negotiate the City Manager’s contract. The City Attorney will be giving members of council a survey to complete. This feedback will be used to evaluate the City Manager.
The last item on the agenda is to approve one of the following people for the vacancy on the board of directors of the Industrial Board: David Bennett, Rick Shepard or Steve West. Information about the candidates is included in the Agenda Packet. I called Bryan Daniels, president of the Industrial Development Board. We had a positive, albeit candid, conversation. I look forward to continuing this conversation and working with him to see how diversity, inclusion AND equity can play a part in future appointments.
