The Aug. 2nd City Council meeting will begin at exactly 6:59pm with a Beer Board hearing for the “Taste of Blount” event.
The full agenda packet can be found on my Google Drive HERE.
There are only six agenda items, two of which are second readings – an amendment to historic zoning regulations and an alley abandonment between Waller Ave. and Boardman Ave.
The resolution authorizing “Taste of Blount,” which is slated for Sept. 8, 6-8pm.

Information about the event can be found HERE.
The fourth item is a resolution that, simply put, gets the city out of the cell tower business. (Pgs. 19-84 in the packet)
Item five is a motion to declare a portion of a parcel as surplus. (See pg. 84) I’ll be interested to learn more about this at the meeting.
The last item is a motion to authorize the mayor to sign an amendment to the Pellissippi Place intergovernmental agreement with Alcoa, and Blount & Knox Counties.

Details are in the agenda packet. (Starting on pg. 86) Our city manager has been working with stakeholders and I anticipate he will share the purpose of this amendment at the meeting.
